Who we are

The distillery is the only producer of brandy on the island and export their products to more than 25 countries, such as China, Germany, and the United States.

The founder of Bodegas Suau was the Mallorquin entrepreneur Joan Suau y Bennassar, who, in the 19 th century, founded a distillery in Cuba during one of his trips. In this distillery, he began to produce the known Ron Suau Habana and anise, a drink that became very popular in the whole American continent.

A few years later, Suau fell in love with a young lady and disembarked in Mallorca to marry her, founding, in 1851, the distillery we know today and from which we continue to export its collection around the world.

The Barceló and Mora families have been involved in the business for three generations with great passion. Their famous brandy, that began production in the beginning of the 20 th century, still follows the same process of production as it did in that very beginning.
